In mid-July, Taylor, one of our daily guests, was brutally robbed, stabbed several times, and left for dead. He was rushed to Truman Medical Center to receive lifesaving care from the hardworking nurses and doctors. Through their critical care and God's grace, Taylor has been able to slowly recover.

A few days after the stabbing, John, the director of MGM and Father Paul, the pastor of the Cathedral, were able to talk to Taylor and figure out what he needed. Taylor had requested a rosary since his was stolen in the robbery. Within the hour, John and Father Paul were at Taylor's side. Taylor explained how he was proud of his Catholic upbringing. 

Over the past three months, MGM has helped Taylor get back on track and he was recently awarded a housing voucher setting him up to get a roof over his head in the next few weeks. A roof over his head is nice, but more importantly it is away from the crimes, drugs, and violence from the streets. His physical and emotional recovery would be much quicker without the stress of living on the streets. 

Taylor has been released from the hospital and has a positive attitude despite still having four cracked ribs. He is actively searching for a place near the "Gold Dome." He said, "I really want to be as close to the "Gold Dome" as possible; there is something special about it. Being born and raised Catholic, it's just apart of who I am. I need to stay as close to God and the Church." 

He utilizes Kansas City's RideKC free bus rides to transport himself to and from all of his appointments.
